Seven defining attributes of comfot were identified; stability, directivity, balance, hardness, autonomy, subjectivity, holism. Each attributes of comfort involved empirical referents, such as physical, psychological, pschospritual and environmental context; and three sense; ease, relief, and trnscendence. The antecedents of comfort were identified such as instability, unsatisfaction of the human needs. The consequences of comfort serve as an evaluation criteria on the effects of comfort and they were identified such as relaxation of body and mind, increase of self esteem, increase of self-efficacy, satisfaction of the needs. The concept analysis of comfort demonstrates an examples of considering a nursing intervention of comfort as a behavioral concept, applying concept analysis to it to identify its key components as defining attributes and empirical referents and then developing and applying the standard comfort protocol.
